¡Hola! Recuerdan que en los últimos meses del 2017 estuve un poco ausente y les comenté que tenía unos proyectos de trabajo que requerían de mucho tiempo y dedicación. En esta entrada quisiera compartirles un poco acerca de uno de esos proyectos. Les cuento que fui llamada para hacer la dirección de arte de un proyecto hermoso el ballet “La Bayadera” presentado por el Ballet Clásico Alina Abreu en Rep. Dominicana.
Podríamos definir la dirección de arte como la comunicación visual de un proyecto, la creación de una identidad visual como elemento comunicativo, este mensaje es fruto de la elaboración de una estética visual multidisciplinaria, hoy en día la Dirección de Arte, cómo tal ya no se centra en departamentos exclusivos del cine y la publicidad sino que aparece en muchas otras disciplinas y de modos poco convencionales. Es algo en lo que había querido trabajar desde hace un tiempo pero como las cosas te llegan cuando te tienen que llegar, este era mi momento. Mis amigos a veces hay que lanzarse y dejar el miedo a un lado. Agradezco grandemente esta oportunidad que se me ha dado y la disfruté de principio a fin. Siempre me había gustado aquello de la dirección de arte y la verdad es que la arquitectura y la fotografía me ayudaron mucho para crear lo que quería transmitir, me puse a estudiar sobre el tema y ampliar mis conocimientos y sobre todo investigar cómo organizar el trabajo en equipo.
Este Ballet tiene lugar en el Oriente, en la exótica y misteriosa India Real del pasado. Es una historia de amor eterno, misterio, destino, venganza y justicia. El ballet nos adentra al drama de un amor imposible, ya se imaginan mi emoción, inmediatamente me llamaron empecé a leer y buscar referencias. El siguiente paso fue ver primero videos de fragmentos y luego el ballet completo en varias versiones. A partir de ahí seleccionar el elemento central, concepto, la paleta de color y lanzarme a la primera reunión, Alina y yo habíamos coincidido (sin hablar previamente) con el mismo elemento: el fuego.... ¡estabamos conectadas!
Hice mi tablero en “pinterest” buscando imágenes de referencia es importante no enfocarse en ver imágenes solo relacionadas al tema en si (ya verán las imágenes que seleccioné para mi tablero) y luego creé mi “mood board”.
El siguiente paso fue rodearme del mejor equipo y discutir con ellos las ideas y ver que tenían que aportar y así enriquecer la idea inicial,lo que logramos juntos fue hermoso, cuando se trabaja con pasión y se ama lo que se hace el trabajo final no puede ser menos que excepcional, aquí les muestro el resultado.
Imaginar y soñar este proyecto y luego llevarlo a la realidad ha sido una de las experiencias laborales más hermosas y enriquecedoras que he tenido, definitivamente me encantaría seguir abriendo camino en este área.Al final de este post pueden disfrutar del comercial de TV y un video con Highlights de las funciones realizado por Stanley De La Cruz.

Hello! Guys, remember when I was a little absent in the final months of 2017 and told you that I had some work projects that required a lot of time and dedication? In this post, I would like to share with you a little bit about one of those projects.
I was asked to do the art direction of a beautiful project. This was the ballet ‘Bayadere’ which was presented by the Ballet Clásico Alina Abreu, and took place in the Dominican Republic. Art direction is the visual communication of a project, the creation of a visual identity as a communicative element, this message is the result of the elaboration of a multidisciplinary visual aesthetic, nowadays the Art Direction, as such is no longer focused on exclusive departments of cinema and advertising but appears in many other disciplines and in unconventional ways, it's something I had wanted to get involved in for a long time. This was my moment. My friends, sometimes we have to go for it, leave fear aside and embrace new challenges. I greatly appreciate that this opportunity was given to me.
I had always liked art direction, and the truth is that architecture and photography greatly assisted the process of creating what I wanted to communicate.
This Ballet takes place in the East, in the exotic and mysterious Royal India of the ancient past. It is a story of eternal love, mystery, destiny, revenge, and justice. The ballet takes us into the drama of an impossible love. You can imagine my excitement, and immediately after they called me I started reading and seeking references. From there, I selected the central element, concept and the color palette, and launched myself to the first meeting where Alina and I had agreed (without speaking beforehand) with the same element: fire.
I made my Pinterest board looking for reference images, it is important not to focus on seeing images only related to the subject itself (you will see the images that I selected for my board) and then created my mood board. My central element, as I told you before, was fire, the sacred flame.
The next step was to surround myself with the best team possible, and what we achieved together was beautiful. When you work with passion and love and are surrounded by like-minded people, the final result can be nothing less than exceptional. Now, I want to share with you the result.
